Camp Tulakadik is a christian summer camp located in beautiful Norton, New Brunswick, Canada. Kids of all ages come out to the camp over the summer to enjoy a week of fun filled entertainment and games, the most exciting of all, the Love Barge. The love barge was first created as a prize for the winning team of a week long teen camp competition. It quickly grew into the most saught after prizes, and is gaining interest from all over the world.
The most interesting thing about the barge, is that it is fashioned out of used materials only, and must be created and destroyed each year, so it is always different, always improved.
The Love Barge has a 7 man crew, including a captain, first mate, row master, chef, and band. There is no engine on the barge, nor a sail, so the barge has to be hand paddled, by the losing team.
Some key features that make the Love Barge such a first class vessel are: the 16 foot high crow's nest, upper deck, live entertainment, chocolate milk on tap, barbeque and kayak launch.
The Love Barge is truly an amazing story, and has only room for improvement. Fashioned out of a set of docks, and raw timber from a scrap pile, it has the stability of a party barge. held togethor mostly with ropes, it is an impressive display of talent and imagination. If only we could all have one.
