Sometimes tough grading does help the students. In school we spend more than half the time we live here complaining about how hard it is, how much we want free dress or simply stressing out about our grades. The truth is, if we do not try hard and teachers are not strict, we will not be ready for the reality of college. Inflated grades have been around as a problem because they get our hopes up. It is hard for us to understand that it is not so much about the grade, but more about being prepared and gaining knowledge.
Seldom have some of us gone around with a smile because our report cards are not bad, but do we ever stop and wonder if we know something new. Our goal should be to learn at least one thing every day. If we have a perfect grade point average but nothing to back it up with in our heads then we are still ignorant. It is hard in this school to get teachers to tell us more than what the paper reads, so it causes a lack of knowledge in some of us. Things are not always going to come to us; sometimes we want to look for what we want; this “difficult” school can demonstrate that.
The other schools around us get perfect grades by only being in class and doing homework… not necessarily at home. Even though some might think that is good because their grades come out to be great and they get accepted to prestigious colleges and universities, it is bad because they get a wrong impression of life. The real world is not easy and things will not always be given to us. The real world is higher education; it is what we all are coming to school to end up in. Therefore, it is better for us to have to work a little harder and be ready, it is not that bad after all and the outcome is great.
