A family unit needs space to grow. Every family member requiring their own space and time to think, feel, and do, - however - time spent communicating and enjoying ‘being a family' is also very important.
Here is an activity which can be designed and enjoyed together.
This activity would suit younger children, say those of pre-school and nursery age.
Your children could have possibly achieved completing this project before, but the resources had to be left in the establishment, now they can design their own threading/lacing activity and show it to teachers and friends in their learning environment.
Threading/Lacing Activity.
On a thick piece of card draw an outline of whatever your child/children are interested in example cars, dolls. Etc.
Encourage your child/children to follow around the shape again, not only to make them feel involved, but to boldly outline the shape.
Parent/carer and child can take turns in hole-punching the designed shape.
Cut out the shape (car, doll, etc).
The holes can then be threaded/laced through with ribbon, thick string, or any other suitable material chosen by the child.
