Consider this statement: “Everybody wants to belong to a group, but what is a group if not a gang?”
To what extent do you agree with this statement?
A group is a merely an extension of the word "gang". There are many types of gangs apart from the stereotypical gang. The stereotypical gang usually consists of a violent group of drug-users that like to fight with other gangs and the members are usually poor. However, a small group of friends that like to get together and "hang out" also fits the definition of gang (a group of people working or going about together). A gang is actually much different than what people think.
Most people belong to a group or gang. Those who do not belong to a gang want to be in one. School is a place where small groups of friends, or gangs, emerge. All of the groups vary in size and personality. Even the odd person out usually is in part of a group too. A company can also be called a group. Therefore, most people already belong to a gang and other people might want to be in one.
