The name has nothing to do with what the actual game entails and no one really knows where the actual game came from. It's just a game my friends and I started to play one day in our backyard in Cincinnati and traveled with us from Columbus, OH all the way down to Memphis, TN where each of us go to college.
It doesn't take much to play, just 2 PBC pipes, a Frisbee, 2 glass bottles, some ice-cold beverages and 4 people. You start by standing the PBC pipes about 20 yards away from each other. The glass bottles are placed on top of the pipes standing upright. Each team picks a side and let the fun begin. Each player must have a drink in one hand and must keep it there for the entire game without switching hands so choose your hand wisely. The game begins by one team throwing the Frisbee at the PBC pipe on the other end. The goal is to knock the bottle off the top of the pipe to score points.
You can catch the bottle once the pole has been struck. Points are rewarded as follows. If the bottle hits the ground 2 points are rewarded. If the Frisbee hits the ground 1 point is rewarded. That's right you must catch the Frisbee every time with one hand (no traps allowed). If neither one hits the ground then no points are rewarded. Good defense is a major part of being good at this game. This is a gentleman's game so no throwing of the Frisbee too hard. The game goes to 21 points and it doesn't matter if you go over or not.
This is just a fun game that my friends and I like to get out and do on nice spring and summer weekend days.
