How I Meet Your Mother Season Four Premier
If you are a fan of How I Meet Your Mother then you have been waiting for a while to find out what Stella would say to Ted's proposal. The wait is finally over after a little teasing of showing every possible outcome he imagines her saying before she finally accepts including the ludicrous thoughts that pop into his head.
Also a continuation from the last season's finale we find that Barney is in love with Robin (well who isn't). In a move unlike Barney he asks Lilly to come over to talk about his feelings. At first he tries to hide it and after admitting it he even denies it and claims the whole thing was one big joke on Lily.
Marshal has not found a job yet and we get a small peek in the life of jobless Marshall. Marshal starts wondering if Ted really knows Stella well at all and asks some simple questions which Ted cant answer he doesn't even know her favorite movie. Ted tries to learn more about Stella and finds she has never even seen his favorite movie, which is impossible unless you have been living along time ago in a galaxy far away. So after watching Star Wars Ted and Marshal decide they must have Stella watch it to test if she is wife material. After nearly killing Stella with peanuts which he did not know she was allergic to Ted takes her back to watch Star Wars and she realizes that something is up and figures out that its important to him she likes it so tells Marshall and him to go in the other room so she can watch in peace.
While Marshal and Ted eagerly await Stella's rating of Star Wars Lily sets Barney on date with Robin telling they are all going out and then ditching them alone together. Barney resists the typical Barney urges in order to be a better man worthy or Robin.
After Stella is done she tells Ted she loved it. Marshal gets her to admit she thinks it was stupid and he questions if she can put up with a movie she hates year round as Ted watches it even on Christmas Eve and she says she can so Marshal decides she is alright for Ted.
At the end of the night with Robin we find that Robin has decided to act as Barneys wingman and set up a sure thing for Barney to be nice to him. He tells Lilly he said no after Robin leaves but then we see her in his apartment and he admits that he didn't let her go but the rest is true. Then when confronted with Lilly's demand he stop sleeping around if he wants her help he says he chooses bimbos over Robin but once she is gone we learn he really wants Robin more.
Likely the Robin Barney interest will be a continuing issue this season and I would expect more problems between Ted and Stella as it seems that she is not the wife he has in the future though it is still ambiguous but the producers said they would like to see the series go 6 years as the story they have developed for it will take that long for Ted to meet his wife so we still should have 2 season more to get there.
