The Universe is the reason we are here, it is where everything happened and will continue to happen. The Universe has been a very big mystery, especially about how it was created, until 1964 when the cosmic microwave background radiation was discovered. Until then the Big Bang was only considered to be one of the many possible theories. After the radiation was discovered the big bang was scientifically accepted as how the universe was created.
Now that we know how the universe was created, we still have the mystery of how the Big Bang occurred. We still have no real clue how it happen but some scientists think that it was caused by a type of black hole. The unified theory is that the universe formed this infinitely dense, infinitely hot egg like Structure. The laws of psychics where combined into one law, then weak nuclear force separated and cause instability which cause it to explode and expand as it is today.
It took a couple billion years for the first stars to form and a couple millions years for those stars to create galaxies. Today the universe is made up of billions and billion of stars in billions of billions of galaxies. There is also some other form of matter that scientists say makes up about half of the universe that matter is Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Today the Universe is 13 billion years old and it is getting older every day, it is still expanding. The universe is full of dust and gas particles of all kinds; in fact in our own galaxy we need device to observe the center and the outside.
The Universe still has a lot of mysteries to be solved, but with time we will solve them. In the universe you can neither create nor destroy matter, so everything in the universe gets recycled. The universe has black holes the only way we can see them is one of 2 ways. If the black hole is a binary star, as it sucks up its brother star you can see its rim glow with the escaping gases of the star. The second way is by using a flashlight of sorts to shine the light on it and the space around the hole lights up but the center is black. Somehow the black hole is also recycling matter because matter can neither be created nor destroyed.
Out of all of the mysteries of the universe I think the most interesting of them all is the thought of worm holes. A wormhole is a sort of cosmic loop hole to get around the speed of light. Some also speculate that a worm holes could be used to travel through time, but this would only work if you wanted to go into the future. The worm hole can be used for space travel for things to get to extrasolar planets and search for life with taking four years or of traveling at the speed of light. There is a downside to worm holes however; they are very unstable so if we found them and wanted to use them. We would have to create a device that would stabilize the worm hole so it would stay open while we are going through it.
The universe is sort of like a cosmic highway because it has a speed limit of 186,282.397 miles per second that is a total of 670,616,629.2 miles per hour. This Universal Speed limit was discovered by Albert Einstein, one of the greatest Scientists in the 20th century. Einstein stated that nothing can accelerate to the speed of light because then it mass and density would become infinite. Thing I like about the speed of light that as you approach it time slow down and your aging slows down. The one thing I have always liked was the fantasy view of the of almost light speed travel like this one. “Let say there are twins let's just call them Twin A and Twin B they 26 years old. Twin A goes on a space Mission and as the ship approaches light speed his stops aging, they return to earth in 5 months. However on earth it has been 40 year, Twin A is still 26 but Twin B is now 66.”
The Universe is full of Radiation, in fact the first time the USA sent a satellite up they thought that the Russians where test there weapons. Only later did we find out that the all the radiation was from the big bang and the past stars that had gone super nova. Super Nova is when a star runs out of element for nuclear fusion. All stars use nuclear fusion to turn Hydrogen into helium, but after the hydrogen is gone what happens next depends on the size of the star, our sun is one of these stars, it will get hotter to support the fusion of Helium into carbon, and when it runs out Helium it will do the same with carbon to get Neon/Magnesium then it will fuse to get Oxygen then Silicon because by that time the core is Iron. Then it is time to either go Super Nova or blow away is layers and become a white dwarf and slowly cool off which is what is going to happen to our sun. Before Stars go super nova the all layered like an onion like this.
The Universe has been there 13 billion years, and it has been making us look up and wonder if there is anybody else in universe. My opinion on the subject is that there are other forms life that share the universe with us but I really doubt that we will find them because universe is 93 billion light years across. So the odds aren't in our favor to find some one out of the distance of 93 billion light Years.
The light year is measurement of distance traveled at the speed of light in a year. This helpful because we can determine how far way an object is if we measure amount of lights from earth. Well this has been fun to write I just hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
