The Lunar Cycle

Depiction of the Lunar cycle as a process of physical and or spiritual laws.

I think of the moon on many occasions. But the lunar cycle in and of itself is of peculiar interest. The lunar cycle is a twenty eight day phenomena that waxes and wanes for fourteen days and then shows the moon as new or full for a day and then the cycle repeats. I have talked to some people who don't know the difference between the new and full moon. For those interested here is a simple rule.

Notice how the lunar cycle perfectly defines our weekly timetable of seven days. A note for the creationists and evolutionist, figure out the Sabbath and you should have an answer of sorts.

The New Moon

The Full Moon

The greater and lesser lights keep time with each other in this manner. When the moon rises with the sun and shines with it all day, the moon is new and then spends the next 14 days waxing Full. Which I define as when the moon rises in the east before the sun sets in the west and shines all night, but does not set in the west until after the sun has risen again east. And the new moon rises with the sun 14 days later and shines with it all day. Here are all of the moon's phases, compliments of Quick Phase Pro.
