For years we have pondered the death of the universe so here are the leading theories about how it will all end and the possibility of a whole new beginning. The end of the universe depends on the total mass and energy of it.
If the mass and energy of the universe is large enough it is believed that we will die this way…
Big Crunch
As we know the universe is expanding but once the universe grows to its limit, all matter under gravity will collapse onto itself and the universe will snap back onto itself. Though, once the universe begins to snap in on itself again, it will take 100 billion years to completely snap shut again. It is believed that this “crunch” will create a new Big Bang, and that this is the content cycle of the universe, and each time a new completely different universe is created. If the mass and energy isn't enough we die one of two ways…
Cold death
The universe will forever expand and eventually all the hydrogen fuel gets used up, by the stars. After there is no hydrogen fuel, there will be no more stars, which means no more heat or light. Eventually (10^29 billion years), all the protons will decay into quarks which leads into the “Big Rip” theory.
Hot death
Eventually, all matter gets sucked into black holes and as the materials are sucked in the molecular energy is transformed into heat energy. This is the fate of the universe that Stephen Hawking believes in.
Those are the leading theories in regard to the end of the universe however Earth won't be around that long anyways, so we don't have to worry about this, unless we somehow create a lasting, human, universal empire.
Unless we don`t die out in a global conflict, got hit by asteroid in next 100 years, got killed by global pandemic, we will create a lasting human empire that will be bound to no planet.
