Solar Energy

My version of solar energy.

Solar energy had been explored by various scientists around the world. In 1839 a Frenchman Edmond Becquerel discovered the photovoltaic effect which is the conversion of light into electricity. In 1860’s another French man named Auguste Mouchout who designed a steam engine running on solar energy. But later in the 1883 an American named Charles Fritz described the first solar cells made of selenium wafers. In 1905 Albert Einstein described the nature of light and the photoelectric effect on which photovoltaic technology is based. Bell Laboratories built a solar battery but it was too expensive for widespread use. Then in 1970’s there was energy crisis and this technology was explored with more interest.

Nowadays solar cells are made of silicon. So far solar energy has been used in household and business office. This energy is renewable and is used for generating electricity. It can lower our utility bill and it also makes the environment that we live in cleaner and saver. There are still other areas that scientists can research on to use solar energy.

In the future  there will be a breakthrough in new ways to make energy more efficient and safer for our world. The prices for solar panels will be a lot cheaper and they can conduct more watts. Also it could be changed into hydrogen for fuel cells into cars. Solar energy has lots of uses which make the environment better for the world.
