Pluto

Pluto was once a planet but is now a dwarf planet because of the new definition, Pluto gets its name from the roman god of the underworld.

What is it?

Pluto was discovered on February 18, 1930 by a man by the name of Clyde Tombaugh. The strange thing is that we realized that Pluto was captured on images since March 19, 1915. In 1979 they found Pluto's first moon Charon, but they didn't something else was their. In 2005 they discovered two new moons, now they are named Nix and Hydra. Pluto is a strange planet, it has an atmosphere but the atmosphere is not always there is Freeze's and becomes ice. When Pluto is closer to the sun the atmosphere returns to the planet.

Why isn't it a planet?

The reason the IAU declassified Pluto to a dwarf planet is because they found other objects around Pluto and they call them the kuiper belt. They think that Pluto is one of them and they also think that Neptune's moon Triton is a captured Kuiper Belt object. So long and read my next article about the Voyager 1 Space Probe.
