This lot was used to be a marine farm where white-lipped oysters were cultivated for their white, pink, and gold pearls, thus the name of this resort. The Philippine Eagle

The Philippine eagle is one of the rarest, strongest, and largest birds around the world. This unique specie is found only in the Philippines and is now endangered, but still populate a small area of the remaining rainforest of Davao and Cotabato provinces in Southern Philippines, albeit in very limited number. Today, the Philippine Eagle Foundation in Davao City is making much effort to preserve these giant birds whose wings stretch as wide as 2-meters. The foundation's artificially breed eagles are hosted by the 700 -km2 area of the Cabuaya Forest where visitors can have their firsthand sightseeing of these monkey-eating eagles.

Facing the wide Pacific Ocean and being back dropped by imposing mountains, the Davao Gulf often presents wonderful and fascinating sunrises, especially during summer in the months of April and May. The protruding Sun often beams a divine display of golden and crisp rays that turn the lucid ocean into a scene of serene golden field. In addition, the local fishermen in their small boats that drift like the lonely clouds would often offer such quixotic and typical Philippine vista.

Mount Apo, which means "master", is the tallest peak in the Philippines at a relatively imposing height of 2,950 meters. It is also home to many endemic species of the Philippines, making it one of the major biological excursion destinations of several universities in the country. It was once an active volcano but there is no formal record of eruption, except for a crater lake situated at its peak. For an adventurous undertaking, Mount Apo is the most delightful and rewarding for a local mountain climbing experience. The way up is quiet arduous, but the climb is highly rewarding according to many people who have been on its peak. And upon setting foot on the topmost, one will be afforded a panoramic and breathtaking view of the clouds, and on cloudless days, the magnificent city of Davao.

Touring Davao province, you'll be treated with lovely and beautiful countryside sceneries. Typical among them is the seeming ocean of the golden rice fields that also fill the air with their very pleasant aroma. Banana and coconut palm plantations are also common beside the wide highways. Native Philippine houses, locally known as the "bahay kubo", would also occasionally appear in view. A sight of those melancholic miniature houses erected on small and upland farms is a source of fascination, and affords anyone a glimpse of the native and pre-colonial Philippines.
