How to be the Best in Art Class

A general idea of your paining techniques.

As you see this picture was drawn, yes by a professional, but that is not what matters. Anyone can draw this. You can, I can. What makes up different about the artist is that he has more experience. But don't worry, with a little practice, you will be a natural.

First when drawing (painting) you will need be calm and relaxed. No good artist is tensed up when painting the delicate sky. Be sure to take a couple of deep breaths before starting. Also in the presses, get up and stretch and move around.

Silly of me to say but, have all the equipment ready when painting. You don't want to get stressed and run around the house when it is your "peace" time. Also, make your environment that you are painting is quite. I would suggest going outside and sketching some stuff.

Now that we have all our reminders, we could start on our painting tricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, i would recommend you to use a pencil and sketch the main objects you see. Don't let detail run you down, because that is not what you are worrying about in this stage. Remember you shade lightly.

Now that you got your main idea in the paper, start by adding a LITTLE detail to your picture. This would mean textures of grass, tree's, clouds, building out line, etc. Keep on adding little detail to your sketch until you have drawn 5 or more textures for your painting.

Now, this is the most "hardest and un-patient part ever" that the people that i taught say. It sort of it, but with my tricks, I will make that you best experience that you never had.

First, you want to put little color on your thing (use a lot of water with paint) because later you will have to make textures, which wont turn out good, with out the main thing it's self.

Now wait for it to dry a little bit, then you can apply darker layers as shades appear in real life, such as water or the sky. The important thing is to work slowly and careful in this stage, because it really makes your picture stand out (not like a map). Remember, you want to use a little brush for this.

Will, you look at that; you just recreated your own picture! Wow, how simple! Hope this help your next drawing to come.
