Chameleon Eating The Eye of Blindness

In his latest, genre-defining work yet, Jon Jaylo redefines his surreal vision towards the modern-day "chameleon", or the typical people pleaser, the lurking monster that bombards its unsuspecting victims with sugar-coated lies and empty promises.

It was basically rendered in a metaphorical "invisible-man" depiction because the artist strongly believes that his subject can be anything in our society's present echelon. From an amateur swindler to the highest, most avaricious corporate enslaver, or even the highly voracious leader who runs this country. Yes. He could be that creature that we call “President”. This so called chameleon thrives within our guilt-ridden, everyday lives, without a single pint of honor or loyalty in their much blackened souls.

This monster could be existent everywhere…it could be present in your usual circle of friends. Or even worse, he could even be the person that you look up to or your relatives. He could be your mentor or your idol. The artist has also used his prominently known insignia, the red apple with a cabalistic eye peeking from its center. It is actually the dreadful symbolism for sin and human temptation here on earth. The 4-faced card on the table represents the versatility of the chameleon's mind constructed facades. And with these masks, he embarks upon faceless casualties, heartlessly and mercilessly, just like shuffling a deck of playing cards. The setting was fixed during sunset, because according to Jaylo, the pretender is also human like us, and he, after all, is also in need of rest. So at the end of the day, the false-hearted monster sheds off its skin to reveal his true colors.
