What do they mean? Who created them?

People theorize that higher intelligence, or aliens have created these bizarre and beautiful works of art. Amazingly, only 5% of total crop circles have been man-made. That being said, who or what made the rest?

Crop circles are usually created in crop fields, such as wheat or rye. Those that have been determined to be hoaxes, have crops that have broken stems.

“True” crop circles bend, and never break. People who walk through the crop circles experience strange sensations. Many scientists speculate that perhaps such phenomena are created by high doses of microwave energy or even bizarre weather events.

The recognition of crop circles began in the 1970's, but stories of their formations span nearly 3 centuries.

Nearly 10,000 of these creations have been documented through time, and eyewitnesses of these formations have often claimed to see incandescent balls of light or unidentified aircraft.

In the beginning, crop circles were primarily simple designs, with no complexity.

However, as time has progressed, the designs of crop circles have grown mind-boggling with some being as large as 200,000 sq feet, and being intricate in design.

Regardless of whether they're created by pranksters, bizarre phenomena, or weather, one cannot deny their awe and mystique.
