Phantom of the Opera

This show played in San Antonio's Majestic Theatre. It was a timeless piece in a timeless venue. Bravo!

As you can see I left an extra line blank ahead of this one. There are no words on that line! That's because there are really no words that can describe the performance of Phantom of the Opera at The Majestic last night. The performance transcends words for me.

Of course, the play is a classic and one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most stunning works. This musical has probably played to more audiences than another other play-type piece in history. It's the longest running play on Broadway and will continue to add to its lead for a long, long time. So any performance of this classic is worth paying attention to.

First of all, The Majestic Theatre is a piece of art in downtown San Antonio. It was built in 1929 and is a landmark in Texas and the country. Any trip to this building is an event. The play last night was more than I expected. The singing was just overwhelming. The acting was superb. The orchestra and music was out of this world. It had to be! Look who wrote it!!

My wife and I were totally pleased with this outing. The tickets were reasonably priced. We had seats on the 10th row. We really enjoyed this production and can't say enough about it.

I think everyone should see this piece of work at some point or another. I know this classic will live forever. I want to see it again, and again. You can't really describe how it feels to be part of a work so classic and timeless. Enough said.
