Successful Entertainer

This lets you know what the industry is expecting from you the person.

First of all let me start by saying that I am not a super star and never claimed to be, but take a good look and see because this is me. Hello to all that have laid eyes on this article and took the time to read this. I am a 26 year old female from Coldwater, MS. For all that don’t know where Coldwater resides, it is in North Mississippi, about 30 miles from Memphis, TN. I am a lyricist, singer, vocal artist, rapper, producer, and a full figured model. Some people don’t know that about me. I am here to say that no matter what the situation maybe whether it is financial, emotional, or physical, you can do and be anybody that you want to be. Take me for instance, I am not the wealthiest person in the world, but I do know this, it takes money to make money. I have been investing in myself for 4 years and I don’t regret a penny of it. Of course it takes a lot of know how to run a business, but people are self employed everyday and why not take a gift that I have learned and use it to my advantage.

If you don’t have an image, start working on one.

How many times have you ever been on a job interview and you spotted some one out of the crowd that looked like they just rolled out of bed? I know that you have seen this before, because I sure have. Image is everything. You can be the best looking person in the world, but if you are not presentable, all the good looks have gone to waste. Take the time to groom yourself. It’s a know fact that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but it’s hard to look at a book with pages all torn out, get my drift.

Get some up to date photos and start a biography.

Q: Is it so hard to keep up with yourself?
A:
No it is not. If you are any type of entertainer or model, people will want to put faces with action. It is hard enough to not be able to be two places at one time at least have the common courtesy to give them something to look forward to. Not only will this save time, but if you are what they are really looking for, they are more to contact you more sufficiently if you would take the time and include an 8x10 or 4x6 head shot with you, not your whole family, but just you on it. The biography is self explanatory take the time and create a life story. Don’t tell them all the details, but the basics. (For example: Name, Stage Name, Genre, Age, Current Address, Working Phone Contacts, E-mail Address, Web Pages, What can you do, how long have you been doing it, who do you sound like, your accomplishments, talent shows, auditions, radio play, television appearances, and etc.) The more you tell the better off you are. But don’t brag too hard about your self.

Learn how to talk to people, be a people person.

If you approach people by saying “hey” or “yo” the majority of the time the first thing that comes to mind is “get lost.” You must know how to talk to people when it comes to dealing with them. It is a known fact that it’s not what you say, but how you say it. I can tell you to listen to my music and you say okay, but if I ask you to listen to my music and explain the benefits that it has for the both of us, you are more likely to not just throw it in your back seat, but actually listen to what I had to say. Not because of what I said, but how I said it. The first thing you will think is, why not give that person a chance, and let me check him/her out.

For starters if you don’t invest in yourself, how do you expect others to?

You must have some type of receipts and paper work to show that you are serious about what you do, or others won’t take you serious. How many times have you ever been shopping and some one approaches you and try to get you to buy one of their boot legged CD’s? This is the most nagging processed ever known to man, on top of all that, they want you to purchase something that you have never heard, and nine times out of ten, you don’t even have a CD player handy to let them listen to the music at hand. Take a moment and think about it. I know it hurts and you probably used your last ten dollars to burn 20 CD’s and you need to hustle right, but the matter at hand really answers itself.

Quality does count.

Every where I go people want to know who does my recording. Why do you think this is? It’s because it sounds crystal clear. People will say it’s just a demo nobody cares what it sound like. Pump the breaks cause they were wrong. If that demo gets into the right hands and the sound is not clear, guess what, it will get thrown away. Yes I said it, chucked in the nearest trash can. The quality of the sound means everything to the listener. It tells how much time you spent on the song and far most it tell the passion you have for what you do. So if it doesn’t sound as good as you would like it to, by all means, don’t let every one here it. Take it from me; it will save you a lot of embarrassment and shame.

I hope that what I have shared with you has started you on the road to success and may your career and dreams be filled with all the possibilities and know how.
