Throughout high school and college I was never seen without my camera. At every event I was taking pictures. Sometimes my friends got annoyed and even asked why I was taking so many pictures. I would take pictures at random moments without giving them time to pose or anything. Here's why I always have a camera in my hand.
Taking photographs help cement that moment in time. Instead of wishing a moment will never end, I simple take a picture and I'll have that picture and moment forever. High school and college were major points in mine and my friends' lives. A time I don't want to forget when we had the most fun. After high school we all went our different ways, but while in college I would look at an album and remember things like homecoming, parades, and parties. I can remember the people who meant the world to me at that point in time of my life. The pictures show the type of person I was in high school, and the type of people my friends where.
Through college I met people who changed my life and I was a part of events that change the woman I am. I took random pictures of those events and people to always remember how special they were. Now that I graduated I look at the photos on my wall and not only remember that single moment, but every moment I spend with the person. I remember how we helped each other through finals stress, and every other crisis that occurred throughout the years. I remember the times my friends were there for me and shown that they were the truest of friends. I remember how much a specific friend meant when I look at the vast photos of us. I look at the pictures of the events I helped lead or create and see that I have changed in the years.
Photos of my family remind me that though they may be embarrassing from time to time, my family is the greatest. Future generations can look back at our photos and know who and where they come from. We never know how long a person will be in our lives so we need to do everything we can to capture the moments we do have with them. I have pictures of my grandfather and I remember him after his death. Though he's not here physically, I can remember him because of my pictures.
I wan to capture these special people and moments whether it's reunions, weddings, birthdays or just random moments of life. So whenever my friends and family ask why i take so many pictures, I simply smile and say "Because I love you.'
