A list of things to look out for:

Always make sure your fingers are away from the camera lens. You don't want your fingers covering up the camera by the last second.
- When you're taking a portrait, make sure there is enough light.
- Always use the flash button.
- Take your time.
- Try to stand still. If you're shaking the camera, you probably rent going to get the picture you originally wanted.
- Tilt the camera if you don't have enough room! Tilting the camera up and down is a great way to take a picture of someone standing up!
- If you're taking a group photo, line the people up by height so you can fit everyone.
