Displaying Family Photographs

A lot of thought must go into where every family photograph will be displayed throughout the home. Some photographs are worthy of hanging on a wall and others only require a hard surface in a low traffic area.

Displaying photographs in a home is an opportunity for a homeowner to share a part of themselves with anyone that walks through the front door. With the right frame, a family photo can bring back magical memories that occurred in the past.

Some photographs will be encased in matching frames because the color of the frame matches the wall paneling or some other color scheme in the room. Some people prefer to display the family photographs in float frames just so they can view the pictures at any angle. The magical effect of photographs floating on air is certain to please people that hate clutter in the home. Some photographs are framed simply because putting them behind glass will reduce the clutter that is in the home.

Some people have great pride in the photos that they have collected throughout their lives. They will display various photographs in ornate frames that could be silver or the color of gold. Wedding photographs are generally placed in a wedding album and are certain to be enjoyed by the happy couple for the rest of their life. It is proper for individual photographs to be displayed on a table top or any other area that has high visibility.

Many people like to be very creative when they are displaying a large group of photographs on a wall. They will create geometric designs with the square frames that they have on hand and will coordinate the geometric design to the point where the family lineage is evident to all that view it. The matriarch of the family could be hung dead center in the wall arrangements and smaller frames could contain children that are the offspring of several marriages.

Some people like to display family photos by including the images on quilts and wall hangings. This extra special touch of creativity is sure to create a family heirloom that will be enjoyed by many generations. Some families will divide the photographic images up into family units and the end result with be a wall mural that is also a genealogy tree that can be adored by all family members when they drop by for a long visit.
