The New Seven Wonders of the World

Take a look at these breathtaking, eye catching and marvelous wonders that have baffled us for many years.

Great wall of china

The wall was first built in the 7th century B.C, rebuilt and maintained between the 6th century BC and the 16th century, it was built to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire from Mongolian attacks during the rule of successive dynasties. The most famous section of the wall built between 220–200 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang but little of it remains. The current wall was built during the Ming Dynasty.

The wall is a massive 6,400 km long, which streches from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. The wall now also offers a timeless charm to tourists, but scenery varies with seasons. Visit it in different time you will get a quite different scene.

Petra in Jordan

The Ruins Of Petra In Jordan

The ancient city of Petra was literally carved from the sandstone cliffs of southern Jordan. There the people called Nabataeans built temples and tombs, houses and halls, altars and aquaducts. they had a civilization that stood at the crossroads of the ancient Near East, a center for commerce as the spice routes and trading trails of the time all flowed through Petra

Hidden behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains, boasting incomparable scenes that make it the most majestic and imposing ancient site still-standing nowadays.. It has been said "prehaps theres nothing in the world that resembles it" , actually, for sure, theres nothing in the world that resembles it,The rock-carved rose-red city of Petra is full of mysterious charm, it was "designedto strike wonder into all who entered it".

Brazil's statue of Christ the Redeemer

Towering almost 750m (2,430 ft.) above the megalopolis of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Christ the Redeemer statue was erected atop the Corcovado Mountain in 1931. Perched among lush, semi-tropical vegetation, this monument has become emblematic of the city along with the annual Carnival parades. Standing 38m (98 ft.) tall, the Art Deco designed image of Jesus Christ looks below with outstretched arms.

Starting as early as 1850, when Brazil was still a Portuguese territory, local Catholics wanted a monument of some sort atop the dizzying hilltop park known for its panoramic views. A priest went to Portugal to find a less than receptive audience in the form of Princess Isabel who refused to fund the monument. When church and state were officially separated in 1889 by Brazilian independence, the cause died. The project was awakened in 1921 by the local Archdiocese appealing for funds from local Catholics in order to build a great monument. It took over 10 years to secure the financing required to finish the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Peru's Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a city located high in the Andes mountainsin modern Peru. It lies 43 miles northwest of Cuzco at the top of a ridge, hiding it from the Urabamba gorge below. The ridge is between a block of highland and the massive Huaynac Picchu, around which the Urubamba River takes a sharp bend. The surrounding area is covered in dense bush, some of it covering Pre-Colombian cultivation terraces.

Machu Picchu (which means "Old Peak") was most likely a royal estate and religious retreat. It was built between 1460 and 1470 AD by Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, an Incan ruler. The city has an altitude of 8,000 feet, and is high above the Urubamba River canyon cloud forest, so it likely did not have any administrative, military or commercial use. After Pachacuti’s death, Machu Picchu became the property of his allus, or kinship group, which was responsible for it’s maintenance, administration, and any new construction.

Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid

Chichén Itzá, the most famous Mayan temple city, served as the political and economic center of the Mayan civilization. Its various structures - the pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars, and the Playing Field of the Prisoners can still be seen today and are demonstrative of an extraordinary commitment to architectural space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and arguably the greatest, of all Mayan temples.

The Colosseum in Rome

was built in Rome, Italy, about 1920 years ago. It is considered an architectural and engineering wonder, and remains as a standing proof of both the grandeur and the cruelty of the Roman world.
After the splendour of imperial times, the Colosseum was abandoned, and in turn it became a fortress for the medieval clans of the city, a source of building materials, a picturesque scenery for painters, a place of Christian worship. Today it is a challenge for the archaeologists and a scenario for events and shows.

India's Taj Mahal

For centuries, the Taj Mahal has inspired poets, painters and musicians to try and capture its elusive magic in word, colour and song. It is one of the most flawless architectural creations of the world. Since the 17th century, travellers have crossed continents to come and see this ultimate memorial to love, and few have been unmoved by its incomparable beauty.

Taj Mahal stands in the city of Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of the Yamuna River. It was built in the memory of the beautiful Arjumand Bano Begum, who won the heart of a Mughal prince. She was married at 21 to Emperor Jahangir’s third son Prince Khurram and stayed loyally by his side through good times and bad: in the luxurious royal palaces of Agra as well as the transient tents of war camps.
