Seven Strange Houses 2

Who would enjoy living in houses like these? These are seven of the strangest houses the modern man has build.

The architects of the world may not have the ability to match some of the wonders of ancient civilizations like the Great Wall of China, or the Pyramids of Egypt, but our architecture has advanced greatly in recent years to lead us to create some pretty unique looking houses. Attached are pictures of seven of the greatest modern marvels in architecture.

This house is shaped like a fishing boat. Although there are several houses made from real boats out there, this one was just designed in the shape of a boat. It is only two stories, and is the size of an average town house.

This building has a dragon or serpent wrapped around the outside. It is not actually part of the architecture, just added on the outside. These are apartment homes, but they still qualify as a house. These rooms cost the same as an average apartment's rent would be, the dragon was just added for looks.

The tilting house. This is what appears like it would have been a rather old house maybe styled after mansions of the renaissance, but it was built level, although it looks uneven. This three story house cost a few million to build.

Reminds you of the dens in the Lion King. This is a very strange house which appears to be maybe four or three stories tall. It doesn't even have windows covering the majority of the “windows”. The painting of the flames at the base just add to the oddity of this house.

This house appears to have been hit by a falling pineapple. In reality it's just empty space. It doesn't add to the house, but it makes it look cool. The pineapple addition only added a few thousand dollars to the price of constructing the house.

Man this would be a rather hard house to sell for a realtor. It's on a separated pillar of rocks. I would really hope that the furniture for the most part would be included as it would be rather hard to get it here. There are many houses on rocks similar to this, but none of them are as big as this one. You would also have to look into getting house insurance as a simple landslide, or extreme corrosion could cause you to lose a portion of your house.

This is also an apartment or hotel. The sheer detail put into the roof of this is just amazing. Some of those statues on the roof are people, although I was unable to discover the identity of the people, or their connection to this particular hotel.

If you enjoyed this article you can check out the first article in the series of 7 Strange Houses. It has some rather strange pieces of construction that may or may not exceed these ones in oddity.

Jared, if you look carefully at the tilting house, you'll see that it's actually upside down! The building is one of Gaudi's, in Barcelona, called Casa Mila. I'm going to put some pictures I took of it on Triond. The people on the roof have no identity, they're chimney stacks! I love Gaudi's work.

The Gaudi building is the last one that you show in your article.

Very interesting!
I wonder how to get to the house on top of the rock?
By helicopter, maybe?

I would live in any of them apart from the one on the cliffs

I`ll take the one on the cliff. No neighbours there.

I don't know if I would like to live in them but I sure would like a tour of them. They look really interesting. If I had to chose one of them I think it would be the first one but without the snow.

Great find here, love all the Amazing house photos. I don't believe I would choose to live in any of them. However you did a *super job on this article.

I have to agree with Francie on this one, I would not want to live in any of them but they sure are interesting. Thanks for sharing, it was great!
