Feng Shui and the Foyer

Feng Shui is a system based on keen observation and experimentation, combining elements of nature and nutrition. It is the study of the environment, places, people, time, and how the energies of each interact.

The foyer is the room into which the main door opens. The foyer is the first room that your guests see. In fact, it is also the first room the energy entering your house has to cross, before it sees the rest of the house.

Hence it us obvious that the energy spreading within the house carries the flavour of the foyer. If the foyer is done up well, good flow of energy can be expected. If not, there is a hindrance.

The foyer is often called the place of transition. Amongst other things, the foyer may affect the career, social life and link with the world.

The door should be wide and open onto a bright cheerful looking room. Dark narrow foyers should be brightened up with lights and mirrors. Have the entrance as open as possible in order to enhance beneficial energy.

A foyer should not be too small. A wall very close and against the opening door would deflect the energy. The foyer should offer an interior view of the rest of the home. If your guests search of their view in, probably energy searches too.
