Could You Spend the Night? World's Most Outlandish Hotels and Hotel Rooms

A collection of some of the most bizarre hotels and hotel rooms on the planet. Would you spend a night in any of them?

I've come across on the internet, some awfully bizarre hotels and hotel rooms. I don't think that any of them have piqued my interest as far as staying there is concerned. However, I was actually amazed at the obvious diverse tastes of people who visit these places, and the totally out-of-this-world way in which some of the rooms were presented.

If you were given the opportunity to stay in any of these hotels or rooms free of cost, would you dare?

Hydropalace, China

This hotel is anchored in the Yellow Sea. You get there by boat and enjoy a luxurious stay in one of the world's most bizarre hotels.

Drainpipe Hotels

In Germany you could rent one of these hotel rooms made from drain pipes (that's you, down the drain then).

Asakusa Capsule Hotel

This capsule hotel is in Japan and offers cheap overnight stay for people on the go. They remind me of ovens.

Beckham Creek, Cave Haven

A luxurious cave hotel located in Arkansas, USA

Woodpecker Hotel in Sweden

This tree house hotel stands 13 meters (42 feet) above ground. It lies in a 130 year old oak tree and comes with a kitchen and a toilet too!

The Cage Room

This is a hotel room with two cages, built with the idea that guests can put on "cage shows" for each other.

The Jail Room

A room fashioned after a jail cell. Guests are encouraged not to book out, but to break out at the end of their stay.

Sand Hotel at Weymouth Beach in England

This is just a structure with no roof. I wonder what happens when it rains.

The Wrapped Room

If you love CSI, this one if for you. This hotel room is structured to look like a crime scene that has been wrapped by investigators.

Flying Hotel Room

The floor slants, the wardrobe comes out of a wall and the bed is suspended. If you're air-bound crazy, don't miss out on this one. Just don't' forget and swing your legs off the bed when you wake up in the morning.

Ariau Towers Hotel in Brazil

In the treetops of the Amazon Rainforest, you will find this strange hotel perched 80 feet above the ground. The rooms stand on stilts and enjoy the fresh, clean air that only the Amazon can provide.

Dog Bark Park Inn

Dog lovers are encouraged to stay with their dogs in this B and B in Idaho, U.S.A.

So, here is your choice of the world's coolest hotels and hotel rooms. Is there any that tickles your fancy?

Interesting... but maybe next time put more than one sentence about each place? Good concept, though.

I HAVE SUBMITTED A FIX ON THIS. THE PICTURES DID NOT COME OUT THE WAY THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO.

I DIDN'T WRITE A LOT HERE AS WITH MY OTHER ARTICLES, BECAUSE THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AND I DID NOT WANT TO SPOIL THAT. IT WAS A DELIBERATE CHOICE.

THANKS FOR YOUR IMPUT

Anyone that pays to sleep in an oven is a few marbles short. The cave and amazon ones look interesting. Anne, Great pics and very interesting idea. I do not think you needed to add more wording. It was perfect as is.

Very interesting Article. Crazy places to rest your head. It would be fun to go and see these places though.

What fun looking places to stay. Well, at least some of them. Those "ovens" remind me of a morgue, or being in a fish bowl. No, wait -- like being in a zoo display. "Don't feed the humans." Great list!

I think the jail one is cool if you really are encouraged to break out afterwards! LOL. Nice work Anne

I enjoyed this, I would rather look at the pics than be distracted by too much info, we all have our quirks. I think the cave had more visual appeal for me but I will stick to a more conventional style thanks Anne

I loved it! I'm a huge water nut so the first one was my favorite. I think there's a hotel in Florida that has rooms underwater, but I forget the name.

Each one of these hotels is incredible! How unconventional and amazing. I didn't know that such places existed.

This was a fun tour.
