Senor sombra is a Spanish animation about a “vampire” called Senor sombra which means Mr shadow in English but instead of sucking peoples blood he suck the color out of everything. At the start of the animation it is all dull dark colors and Senor sombra moves the bushes to show a colorful house before rubbing his hands together. As he reveals the house a voice says something in Spanish but you don't need to know what he is saying because of the depth of the voice and sinister tone.
When he is walking up the path you can see his shadow on the road but you don't know what it is. You cant see his face but before entering the house he looks up at the light in the window and you realize it was him dressed all in black.
As he enters the house you here the classic horror film music and know something bad is going to happen. He looks at something before going to the stairs and looking up them and then starts to climb them. As he climbs you can here the feet on the stairs as ha climbs creating a good effect.
When he reaches the top there is one room with a light on and he walks towards it. When he reaches it you see his hand grab the handle and turn it before pulling the door open. Once the door is open light floods out and covers him to which he is horrified and he throws is hands over his face while blinking. As this happens dramatic music is playing in the background and he appears to be wincing as if he is in pain.
When he first goes into the room you can see the shadows of toys on the wall but then when Senor sombra suck out all the color from the room you can see them dancing about and moving like a dance or something. Senor sombra seems to be in some kind of ecstasy and he is jumping about happily and then he sees the kid lying in his bed and walks over to him bends over and sucks the color out of his face. I think this probably uses a shape tween to create the effect of the color pulling off and being swallowed. Once he has sucked off the color to leave a gray face he starts throwing the little boy around. The child lands in one of the shadow's “mouths” and the effect of the shadow eating him is made. When the shadow has done it “spits” the little boy back in to his bed were it lands still asleep as if nothing has happened except the color is still missing.
His work done Senor sombra makes his exit leaving you with the view of the moon, the only thing with color still in it, it is very cleverly done with alpha and dark grey clouds floating about.
You look out of the window to see Senor sombra walking away in to the night and then see the view of the window were the child appears with only a red nose left and it seems as if it knows something is wrong but is not sure what.
At the end of the animation it is the same view but with dark colors instead of light then it zooms in on the nose which turns to a full stop behind the title.
