More Steps to Stomp Out Everyday Stress

Ten more steps to get rid of the everyday stress we feel.

In the first articles we looked at ten ways to stomp our way out of everyday stress. Here we are going to add a few more positive stomping moves to help you continue to get out from under stress.

  1. Practice good posture as it will reduce long term stress effects. Remember when standing straight transfer your weight from one foot to the other while bending you knees to reduce stress on your lower back.
  2. Stay on top of your housework such as keeping up with the laundry, dishes, or any other household task. Also allow yourself no more than 20 minutes to complete your daily household chores. Set the timer and work efficiently. For more tips, see my article Simple Cleaning to Help Relax.
  3. Go slower. Instead of the quick and easy, pick things that take more time to increase patience, build appreciation, and decrease stress.
  4. Get an animal companion. An animal companion can give you unconditional love as well as some comic relief.
  5. Give out hugs as affection bring love, empathy, and trust which reduces stress.
  6. Plan free time for yourself outside. Planning time to enjoy the outdoors away from noise of the TV, ringing of the phone, and the view of piles of work to do will help decrease your stress level.
  7. Dance to get rid of stress by turning on some music, turning up the volume, and dance with your kids, partner, or yourself regularly.
  8. Eat slowly and appreciate your food will help to make you healthier and enjoy relaxing meals.
  9. Let go of the need to always do something and get lost in something enjoyable such as crafts, outdoors, or reading.
  10. Lastly, my favorite, go for the dark chocolate. Chocolate stimulate the brain and boost your mood while dark chocolate has antioxidants to lower blood pressure.

Add these ten steps to the first 10 steps to stomp out the stress in your life and walk more towards a happy and positive life.
