How to Tell If Someone is Lying to You

Ever been lied to? It’s happened to me plenty of times. In this article, I will tell you how to see right through those lies and expose those dirty liars for who they are.

The Nine Major Giveaways to a Lie

1. Look for any kind of fidgeting, sweating, or nervousness.
2. Pay close attention to the details, take note about the time frame one is talking about, as to make reference when comparing one event to the other. For example, “I just found 100$ last evening on the ground” and later, “Hey, did you see the football game last evening, it was great” Right there you know the person is a liar.
3. Try to see how fast they come up with their responses. See if they are hiding anything, or avoiding a certain topic.
4. If the person is in turn accusing you of lying, when you have not lied, then it is almost a sure sign of falsities arising from the other person
5. If it looks like one is about holding back emotion, such as smiling, laughing, or any others, they are most likely lying or vice versa.
6. Use your gut feeling, if you have an impulse that they might be lying, listen to it.
7. Ask directly to the person if the person is lying, if they truly are, they might want to be honest, however, they might continue to lie, but their lies may become more obvious
8. If the person is avoiding eye contact, they might also be lying
9. If you are suspicious of a person lying, then consider their role, put yourself in their shoes, why would they lie to you, and come up with a conclusion

Consider what they are thinking, and do not get mad if they are lying about something, if they know anything, they will know the consequences and know the risks they are taking. However, if they have a good reason too, it might help to be a little easier on them.
