10 Ways to Beat Work Stress

These ten tips will help to get rid of work related stress.

Work can bread just as much if not more stress then our home life can. With looming deadlines and endless to do tasks is enough to make any person stress. The following 10 ways can help you to lower the stress you feel at work no matter what you do for a living.

  1. Instead of multitasking, only tackle one task at a time and ask yourself what the rush is.
  2. Don't keep a to do list but a done list. Every time you finish a task add it to your done list so then you can see what you have accomplished. Also complete the most important tasks first.
  3. If you are always late, then set your clocks 10 minutes fast so your always on time.
  4. Listen to comedy audio books while driving to put you in a good mood before work or get rid of stress when the day is over.
  5. Control what stress you can and don't get worked up over what you can't control.
  6. Ease off yourself by not trying to do more then you can handle or letting someone put more on you then you can handle.
  7. Stand up and show respect for yourself and others around you by expressing your feelings directly without infringing on others.
  8. Be a friend to your co workers because relationships reduce stress levels and be a good role model in your ability to manage stress.
  9. Instead of complaining of stress levels with your co worker, problems solve ways that can get rid of the stress.
  10. Allow yourself to take 5 periodically or take a mental vacation to somewhere you can relax. Recognize it as being productive and restorative. Also leave out the sugar snacks so you are not victim of highs and lows.

All these tips will help to decrease the stress levels you are feeling at work. Lower the amount of pressure from your to do list and finding respect for what you do. Also taking a time out from your work whether it is a break or just a mental vacation to relieve your stress. If all of the above doesn't lend a helping hand, then you have to be able to recognize a burnout. With a burnout, maybe a vacation will spark work back or maybe it is time to find something else you like to do.
